I had leftover meatball (frikkadel) meat and I decided to make hamburger patties. The meatball (frikkadel) recipe calls for 2 pounds of meat and if you just want to make hamburger patties 2 pounds is way too much. (If you want to feed the neighborhood that is fine, they will love you.)
If you also want to be a little healthier with the hamburger, you cut the meatball recipe in half so the meat will be 16oz.
You can add minced turkey meat, so your recipe will be:
8 oz. of beef
8 oz. of turkey
I also added a little BBQ sauce to the recipe.
Add 1 teaspoon of fresh chopped cilantro to the mixture.
Form patties and I wanted to do tropical so I added mozzarella cheese, to what will be the middle of the patty and then added my next layer of meat. (I tend to go a little big. Always been a problem of mine…)
Coat the patties with flour and place in fridge for a few minutes.
I drizzle a little olive oil over some radicchio as well as well as some thick sliced onions. I grilled the patties, pineapples and the last few minutes I added the radicchio and onions to give it that grill flavor.
I used whole wheat bread because the hamburger is a little big, and we are doing healthy! That is my final answer and I am sticking to it ……Hiehie. My hamburger:
One the one side: whole wheat bread, baby spinach, onion, hamburger patty. On the other side: whole wheat bread, radicchio, pineapple, onion, tomato. Together – YUM! You can add cheese to the patty is you feel like it.
Enjoy your tropical hamburger!!
